Why a Network Marketing Leader is Talking about PTSD and Autism

Network marketing is a people business, and people aren’t perfect. Ever get tired of watching gurus on the internet talk about their perfect life? Yeah, it can be motivating, but it can be really annoying, especially if you’re struggling mentally, physically, and financially.

When I started network marketing in 2014, I tried looking perfect. I copied other MLM trainers on Youtube, and spoke about generic training techniques without any passion or experience backing it up. Yeah, some say “fake it until you make it.”

I eventually deleted those videos and started talking like the real me – someone who has PTSD, Autism, and social anxiety. Of course, these are just labels, but I am a real person with real issues.

Now, more than ever, I want real people to succeed in network marketing – people that struggle with anxiety, who don’t want to do home parties or three way calls for their home business. I get it. I’m an introvert who just wants to share my opportunity link on the internet. In fact, I have recruited over 600 people in my current company just sharing my links and letting the company’s autoresponder email them. I don’t call my leads or email them.

Most of us are too busy to want to call prospects after work, only to get hung up on. Why not create a video or article and have people find you? It’s called Attraction Marketing, you attract prospects to you.

I’m all about people coming to me and have done it that way since 2014. I tried calling leads for a couple weeks in the beginning but it just felt gross, and pushy – like the car salesman, that’s part of the reason people have a bad association about MLM.

Back to being real – the new entrepreneur these days is vulnerable and humble. They share personal details about their past that makes your jaw drop. I was a serious drunk for 16 years and even had a heart attack when I was 32 because of it. Now, I wear my wounds with pride because I have shifted from being a victim to a person with a gift to help others with.

The greatest thing about network marketing is that it can help someone on a grand scale. Ordinary people who could barely pay their rent go on to making millions in MLM by helping thousands of others. Now, I believe we can help even more, with personal issues, like PTSD, Autism and anxiety.

I was also a rocker for 38 years – meaning I rocked back and forth on my bed ever since I was 8. I am uncovering why I did that now, and do videos about it. I don’t care if my downline or team sees it because that is who I really am.

So many people think they can’t share their darkest secrets, but I think that makes us very transparent and allows others to be open and vulnerable also. It’s time to integrate ourselves and heal our past. The best way to do that is face our past and love it as it comes up. They call this “shadow work” in the energy healing community.

We all push personality traits into the “shadow” because they are not acceptable as we are growing up. Our parents tell us don’t act that way, don’t feel this way, so we push that emotion or feeling down into shadow. However, your body is constantly trying to become whole again, and will release that past emotion or feeling again for you to feel it. If we fully felt it again it could reintegrate back into our adult selves, but most people don’t want to feel these feelings ever again, so they run from them with addictions and other coping mechanisms.

We become leaders by becoming whole, mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially. I am becoming more of a leader because I am putting the pieces back that I lost as a boy. The benefit of becoming whole again is more confidence, more energy, less anxiety, fear, and depression. In fact, you won’t even believe how great you feel, but first you have to feel the old emotions in the shadow.
