Power of Compound Effect in Network Marketing

Power of Compound Effect in Network Marketing

I want to talk about the compound effect in network marketing, the power of compounding. You know, if you take a penny and double it, you have like a million bucks in 30 days, something crazy like that I forgot the exact number.

But compounding is very powerful, and you only need to do about 1% of something every single day for it to really add up. Look at YouTube. If you do a five minute video in the morning like this, you’re gonna have 365 videos in one year.

So get passionate about what you’re doing. You don’t have to talk about network marketing. You can just go for a walk and talk about your life. What you did last night, what you read. You know, are you reading some entrepreneur books? You know what videos you watch? Did you meditate? Did you do any breathing exercises? You know, are you dieting? What did you eat? Talk about something that excites you every day, and you’ll have 365 videos in one year, all generating leads for you around the clock from around the world.

So I want to talk about a real quick story. My dad in his 60s, started restoring cars, not classic cars. He wasn’t really into American classics. He was more into European cars. So his first car that he restored, he got it in boxes and the parts were rusty. Cats had pissed on the parts and he took home the boxes and he paid a couple hundred dollars for this car. Maybe $2,000 because it was an MG TC. So classic English cars.

He took it home and started restoring it. He’s still running the rental yard business, so he couldn’t work on it every day. He’d work on it Saturday, Sunday.

Then when he retired, he started restoring things quicker, and he got better at it. He restored a Jaguar, and he restored a Volkswagen bus. He restored an Aerial motorcycle, and a couple other things. And oh, yeah, a Porsche 356. convertible. Cherry Red, just mint, and he got really good at it.

So this is my dad’s work day. He goes up to the shop, he’s got his own little garage. And he’ll work from 10 till three. So just five hours a day and he’s restoring stuff right? Over the last 15-20 years that he’s restored things he now has, like museum quality, five show-quality cars, restored various other other crazy things like steamboat motors got, you know those old boat motors with a huge flywheel. He resorted to a few of those.

Now he’s got a whole garage full of cars and things, and what’s really cool is that he’s just gonna leave it all to my mom. That’s her insurance for the rest of her life. You know, when he passes away, he’s already got the broker for the cars. He’s got a broker that will take care of all the sales. My mom doesn’t have to lift a finger and all those cars are gonna get liquidated, and she’s gonna live happily ever after. He’s already 78, and he still goes up there every day and works.

My point is that he’s compounded all this energy into making this miraculous Museum of very fine cars. Take my brand for instance, I’ve been creating content for network marketing since 2017. I’ve written over 1000 articles on two different blogs. I probably have done about 900 videos. I deleted the first 200 because I didn’t like them. I sounded like all the other trainers I was watching.

But once I got my voice, I just ran with it. I started doing content every day. And now I can say that I got over 1000 articles and a thousand videos, a couple ebooks, and a music album, you name it.

But I put time into it every single day, and it starts piling up. It starts piling up. You don’t even notice it. You do something every day. All I gotta do is 1%. There’s a book called the compound effect. You just do 1% a day and it can seriously add up to a lot.

And all that content I did, I’m still getting leads from stuff I wrote six years ago. Look at Grant Cardone, he’s an animal, he’s a content machine. He’s got 4800 videos on YouTube.

Now when I started network Marketing, my favorite mentor was Ray Higdon and I found out, I think he told me on facebook one day, I was like, how many articles do you have? And he’s like, oh, I don’t know 2000 articles. You know, and at that point, I had maybe written like, 50 articles. I was like, wow, I gotta get going here.

So that’s the other thing is you got to stretch your perceptions, your expectations of what you need to do to dominate, to really show up in the marketplace. If you’re in network marketing there’s 100 million other distributors, all vying for the same attention that you want. It’s very competitive.

Then you gotta keep your team going. You gotta keep them inspired. They’re gonna watch what you do. So if you’re just like, Oh, yeah, I’ll post a video today. Yeah, you know, I did one last month. I’ll do another one today. Yeah, you know, yeah, I might tweet on Twitter. Does that still work? You know, you got to be everywhere. If you’re in network marketing, you have to be everywhere.

All the leaders create content, they create ebooks, they do webinars, they record their zoom calls, and put them on YouTube, nothing is lost. If you create a Facebook Live, you better put that puppy on YouTube, because it’s gonna get buried in Facebook and one day, you put that on YouTube, you get leads from that for the next 5-10 years. You don’t do something one time ever.

You keep doing it and you keep doing it. You keep doing it. You hammer it out and eventually something will take off. It could be one video you did three years ago, you could start getting hundreds of thousands of views to it, and you’re just like, I don’t know where that came from, but I’m getting tons of views.

You know, my wife and I, we both blog. And just last week or two weeks ago, my wife was like, I don’t know what happened. I just got 400 views out of nowhere. I’m like, cool, sounds like Google picked up one of your articles. And guess what? That’s free traffic. It’s all free guys.

Slap up an article, if you like writing. Slap up a YouTube video, and do it every day and you’ll get a voice – you’ll start sounding more like yourself. My first girlfriend’s dad said, The older you get, the more you become yourself. And that used to trip me out. I kind of got it and then as I got older, I was like, yeah, you start to open up, you start to say what you really mean. And you start getting an identity, your own individual identity.

But break away from the externals, man. Break away from the news. Don’t look at the news too long. Don’t look at social media too long. Don’t look at your competition. Don’t look at them. You know, you can view the competition really fast. Just be like, Okay, all right. They’re there. They’re doing their thing. Okay. Now I’m gonna do my thing.

You are the leader. You don’t have to look around for permission. You don’t have to see what other leaders are doing. I created my whole brand. I didn’t even have a sponsor in network marketing. Last company I joined was four years ago. I didn’t have a sponsor, I came over in a merger. I had the CEO help me – he was like, Alright, let’s do the screen share. I’ll show you your back office and get you started

But my sponsor was long gone. He got fired in the previous company. So it was just me. I had to build both legs. You know, this is a binary. Some people complain about building one leg. Oh, I gotta recruit people down the left leg. Oh, man. Like, I built both legs for two years by myself. I brought in probably 500 to 800 people by myself before I even had a team to help me. You gotta go all in. You got to go all the way – your back has to be against the wall. Network Marketing is too hard to treat it just like a hobby, it’s too hard to just treat it like a lottery ticket. You won’t get any money.

If you think you can just recruit two people and sit back, you’re not gonna make any money. This has to get in your blood. This has to be part of your DNA. All the leaders, they wake up, they eat, they work, they sleep, they drink, they breathe their business. And, you can’t do multiple streams if you can’t even get one stream going.

You have to laser focus on one company until it is pumping oil by itself for a couple years. You can’t just retire right when you get a peak of income. I had to go back to a job four different times because I was premature. I was like I’m doing great. I made 3000 last month. I’m gonna quit. Oops, now I only make 1500 – gotta go back to work.

So you got to get it going. People quit – 50% will quit your first year 50% will quit your network marketing team in one year. Guess what you got to do. You got to replace them and keep shucking oysters. You have to keep recruiting. That’s why you create content because it generates leads around the clock for you. You’re not spending $2,000 a month on Craigslist and running ads or pay per click ads.

I love advertising. That’s a great thing you should do to get your ball rolling. But eventually, you should have content that’s generating new leads. Content is equity guys.

You are sitting on equity – it is just as valuable as a house or a car. It’s more valuable than a car and a house if those things are depreciating – your content just gets better with age, because it takes six months to a year, sometimes two years, three years for a video or an article to show up on the first page of Google.

That’s what you want. You want your content to show up on the first page of Google. Ideally the first spot that is where all the money is. So if you’re creating something every day, a video or article, long post on social media, doesn’t really matter, webinar or ebook. In a couple years, you can be like, wow, I did that video in 2016. Now it’s number one on YouTube for that keyword, MLM Marketing, or cold market lead generation. I can’t believe my video is number one.

You know, that can happen. Then when it’s number one, you’re gonna be like, wow, I got 20 leads today. I don’t even know where they came from. That’s what you want. You want so much content that you forgot where it came from, or you forgot that you even created it. You’re just like, Oh, yeah, that video.

You can’t see that or feel that way if you’ve only done 10 videos, you can’t do anything. You’re just sitting there. You’re spending all your money on advertising because you don’t have any content. You’re sitting on 10 videos, a couple articles. Well, you’re gonna have to talk to friends or family about your business. There’s no way around it: you need money or you need a ton of contacts to grow your business or content.

Content is free. It just takes time and takes time to grow. Do a video every day. Don’t even talk about network marketing if you don’t know anything about it, don’t talk about it. What’s your hobby? What’s your favorite thing to do? Talk about that. Then, at the end of the video, just say, hey, network marketing is the best way that allows me to stay at home and do my favorite hobby. Click the link under this video. Check it out. If you’d like to see the number one MLM opportunity online, click the link.

Whatever, throw anything under there, but make sure it’s a link that clicks, clicks through. Double check your links. You know, on YouTube, the link doesn’t work if you don’t add the HTTP. So you have to double check your links after you create content. It’s pointless. You won’t get any leads if your links don’t work – that’s with YouTube and that’s with blog articles.

You got to learn how to make a hyperlink on your blog, a clickable word called a hyperlink. There’s people that don’t even know how to copy and paste in their network marketing today. It’s not the old school. MLM has changed a lot in the last 20 years. If you don’t know how to copy and paste, you better learn that quickly.

You better learn how to tweet, you better learn how to put a pin on your Facebook, you better learn how to do some Instagram photos. You better learn how to do an article and a video and set up a YouTube channel. YouTube is connected to your Gmail account. All you gotta do is login to your YouTube with your Gmail account, it’s that simple.

Upload a video from your phone. I always upload it from my phone to my desktop, and then I title it on my desktop. Then I throw the video file onto YouTube. But then I also throw it into my transcribing software. I make an article out of it so I’m killing two birds with one stone, I get a video and a blog post out of every video.

I don’t even care if I don’t get any viewers to this video, because it’s gonna be a blog post later today. I’m not even thinking about Oh, people are watching me on YouTube. Oh, no. No, I’m like, this is gonna be a good article later. You know, if I talk for 20 minutes, it will be 4000 words. If I talk for 40 minutes, it’ll be 6000 words. Google loves long content. No one else is writing 6000 word articles except for maybe Neil Patel

Long form content, that’s where it’s at. You want people watching your stuff for a long time. You know, there’s one minute videos out there, that’s great. You know, whatever. But people want value. They want an hour of pure info, pure value. The more value you give away, the more you’ll get back. It’s the boomerang effect. You give the marketplace something that they need, and they will reward you. The byproduct is money.

Money is never the prime focus, because you’ll burn out. You’ll burn out long before you make money in network marketing. So you got to tie your passions to your content. Gotta tie something that you enjoy. I enjoy talking about network marketing. I can talk about it all day long, and I’ve only done it six years. I’m not saying I’m a master. I wasn’t even gonna do a video today, but I got inspired.

Sometimes you gotta do things not planned. You got to be spontaneous. You got to go all the way. You gotta just throw things everywhere. until something sticks. Throw it everywhere. It doesn’t even matter if there’s a typo or your titles wrong or anything. Just put it out there. You can always edit anything later. You can edit posts on Facebook, you can edit things on LinkedIn. You can delete pins on Pinterest. Those things are forgivable. It’s not like you’re gonna go viral.

You know, if you’re worried about your video being seen by thousands of people, forget about it. If you have a new channel, you’re gonna get one view. It’s not about you. No one’s gonna give a rat’s butt about what you say, until you do about 200 videos. All right? It takes a lot of content. And then you’ll get better and better and better. The more you talk on camera, the better it gets.

It used to be a struggle for me to do a five minute video. A struggle. I was saying the same thing over and over. I was tripping over my words. I was spammy. I was like, yeah, check out my products. Yeah. People were like, whatever. Who is this guy? Now I can cover this whole road and do a 40 minute video easily. So the more you do it, the better you’ll get.

The bottom line, you have to get it into your blood. This has to be part of your routine. Do this every day. How hard is it to grab your phone and go for a walk? I mean, these are basically my PJs. You know? I’m just like, I’m gonna just throw my shoes on and walk up the road. I’m not like, Oh, well. I don’t know I got PJs on and I gotta, you know, brush my teeth and comb my hair. No, just do it. Go out there right now. Just do it. You have to act fast. If you get an idea you gotta act fast.

There’s times when I get an idea. If I don’t write it down in the first two minutes, it’s gone. And I’m like, oh, man, what was that? What was that idea? It was so good in the bathroom. Now I’m in the living room, it’s gone. You got to write it down or just go, just go. If you got three ideas, tie them together in a video.

Yeah, so the third thing I want to talk about, there’s a story in the Bible about a king that gave – now I’m gonna butcher this story, okay. But there was a king that gave $1 to five disciples, we’re going to use dollars. It was like naira back then or something, something I can’t pronounce. But he gave $1 to five disciples and he’s like, hold on to my money until I get back.

So he returns six months later. The king and he’s like, I want my money back. So he asked the first disciple, you know, Where’s my money? And the disciples like, Here you go, here’s $10. And the king is so excited. He’s like, Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that you increased my value. I can’t believe that. You 10X’ed my money. I am so proud of you. I’m going to give you more. Okay?

Then he went to the second disciple, he gave him seven bucks back, and the King’s like, Oh my gosh, here you go, you know, I’m going to trust you with more. You increased the value, so I’m going to give you more. And he made it all the way down to the last disciple.

And the disciple is like, here’s your dollar back. I hid it because I didn’t want anyone to steal it, and this disciple is proud of themselves because he thought he did good because he hid it. And the king got super furious. He was like you moron, you didn’t do anything with the money – give it back.

So the gist of the story is people that have some will be given more and people that have very little will be taken away from them. And so that story is a parable and what it means is if you’re thinking in lack if you’re poor and you’re struggling and you’re hoarding every little dollar even though you don’t have any money, if you’re just like oh my, lack this lack that oh my poor life Oh, oh, things are so bad.

You know, you’re a victim and you’re blaming the company, or other people, or your upline – if I just had a better sponsor, I could recruit people. You know, if you’re thinking that way, it’s gonna be all taken from you. That’s why the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. So if you change your mindset and reframe your mind, and your thinking – it’s all about your thoughts.

I’ve been home alone for the last few months and if my thoughts were bad, I’d be suicidal right now. You have control over what you think. I could make my life a living hell. And I did last year, when my wife left. I watched some really bad videos about hell on YouTube.

I was researching hell. And I watched like 50 testimonials of people that literally went to hell, and came back. Very scary stuff when you watch enough and it wrecked me. Then I was listening to hardcore rap and doing stuff and just eating donuts. You know, I got fat. And I got paranoid. The sugar was tweaking me out. And I was just like, man, I am screwing up.

All right, that was last year, this year. I’m like, I’m going to be a frickin monk. I’m not watching anything negative. And I’m going to lose weight. I’m not going to eat crap. And I’m only going to watch motivational stuff. And this time, it’s been a breeze. And I did lose a lot of weight. I have lost 30 pounds since New Year’s. So, 30 pounds in a few months. I feel great.

All depends on your thinking. All depends on your thinking. And if you think you don’t have control, then you’re just a victim because you do have control, you don’t have to work at that job, you can get another job, or you can work from home. I hated my job. That’s why I found network marketing.

And then I studied network marketing and I treated it like a real profession. It still took me three and a half years to make 2000 bucks a month. But my bills are so small that I was like, Hey, I can live on this. I’m gonna come home full time and create content every day, just like the bloggers I looked up to.

Now, four years later, still working full time from home. But you gotta go all in and content is free. You can create as much content as you want. On a beautiful walk. I’m not wearing a mask. I’m ordering all my food online. I don’t have to go into town. I don’t have to wear a mask at Walmart. That’s it, guys but you have to go all in.

And that’s the compounding effect. You create a little every day. And I’m not talking about emailing people and folding envelopes and other non income producing activities. I’m talking about things that stay up on the internet that can generate leads. That’s the content I’m talking about.

You do 1% a day. After a year, you’re gonna have tons of stuff out there. And you’re gonna be like, Oh, yeah, I wrote that. I wrote that last year. I can’t believe it’s on LinkedIn still. You know? So give it a shot. Do it every day. I will talk to you soon.
