New Network Marketing Business Recruiting Style: I Did it My Way (PTSD, Anxiety)

New Network Marketing Business Recruiting Style: I Did it My Way (PTSD, Anxiety)

I want to talk to you about network marketing, and how people are so scared about it because they think that they have to fit into a certain mode or model, and that hasn’t been my experience because I knew if I was going to do it, that eventually I would have to do it my way.

You might see a lot of Network Marketing Leaders out there that they’re all really loud extroverted, kind of like car salesmen. And, you’re just like that’s not even real – like how can that guy do that, and that’s how I felt when I joined network marketing in 2014.

I was an affiliate marketer so I shared product links on my social media, and I got a commission every time someone would click through my link and buy a product. There just wasn’t any residual income there so when I discovered network marketing I was like wow this is huge.

But I was like, these guys are ridiculous. You know they’re not even, they’re not acting real they’re acting like a car salesman to get you into their business.

So I tried doing that actually the first year. I did videos and I tried emulating the leaders. I still couldn’t get my voice really loud and boisterous. But I tried to mimic the MLM trainer trainers that I was watching on YouTube myself, but it just didn’t come off right because I was regurgitating what they said, and I hadn’t really experienced it yet.

So give yourself time to learn the profession, and you don’t have to copy anyone, the thing is that I make a full time income from home now. I have for the last two years, and my brand is now evolving to the point where I can mix up my brand.

I can talk about PTSD one day and then talk about network marketing the next day. So, find out what your strengths are and what I mean by that is what really fires you up. it could be a hobby. It could be relationships, it could be your pets, and you can definitely tie those things into a network marketing product or brand, like, for instance, my product goes right in line with people that suffer PTSD, anxiety, and I have those issues too, so it’s perfect.

It’s a perfect alignment with my brand, and what I want to do and who I want to target, as my audience I want to help people around my age. Ideally guys that are going through a midlife crisis, they might have anxiety. They might be having PTSD, they might be having a lot of triggers. And of course I work with women as well. I’m just saying that my ideal client is basically a you know a guy around my age going through the same stuff that would be perfect alignment.

But I am definitely happy to help anyone, financially, mentally, physically and that’s the beauty with network marketing is that once you get aligned with your beliefs and passion, then you just tie it into your network marketing opportunity, and you can lead with either the income opportunity, or the product opportunity with your company.

As far as me I wanted to grow fast. And I wanted to make good money pretty quickly so I recruited Business Builders distributors, they’re called paid affiliates in our company. Because customers come and go, and my rule of thumb is that, 20% of your business should be customers and 80% should be distributors.

If you want to make a full time living from this profession, you want to recruit Business Builders, people that want to build a home business just like you. As independent contractors, we are working for the company, so we can basically build a business that we want, that we’re excited about because I tell you what, back to the success I’ve had, I’ve done that all on the internet, no warm market. I’ve never talked to my friends or family about my business.

I’ve done it all on the internet. I’ve never gone to a house party or a hotel meeting. I’ve only done like one or two three way calls in the last five years. I’ve only tried calling cold leads for like two months out of the last five years. I haven’t done any webinars for anyone, and that’s just me.

I’m growing at a pace that is comfortable. I am not going to be the top leader in the company because I am not doing webinars and shout outs and I don’t live on Facebook.

In fact, that’s the other thing I haven’t used in my business is Facebook, you know, in 2014, I picked Twitter. I was already on Twitter promoting my ebook, and I just switched over to network marketing and started sharing my links on Twitter. Then I started a blog, and then I started YouTube.

So, that’s the other thing is pick the platforms that you like. So if you’re into images and photography look into Instagram, and Pinterest. Those are very powerful for network marketing. If you’re a writer. If you can write consistently every week, maybe every other day, then start a blog.

If you’re good on camera or you like talking, I mean, here’s the thing a lot of people are scared about doing videos. I have to add this because I want to clear the air with nervousness with YouTube, the thing is that I am a total introvert. I have social anxiety. I get very nervous around people. Okay I talked about this yesterday I did a video after I got my haircut. I said it was very intense because I went to the barber.

All right. I’m doing massive videos. I’m completely comfortable doing it and here’s why: because if you’re just starting a YouTube channel, you don’t have any viewers, you don’t have any subscribers and YouTube is not going to put you at the top of the search in YouTube, okay you’re brand new. So brand new channels do not get any views.

So if you’re scared that millions of people are going to see your video when you publish it, you don’t have to worry because no one is going to see it, unless you share it on your social media.

So you do have control of your audience in the beginning. It’s not until you have about 100 to 200 videos that you’re going to get some viewers that you haven’t created yourself by sharing, you know, you’ll start getting views but in the beginning, it’s just you and your camera. Just look at it that way.

In fact, I don’t even look at my videos after I publish them. I don’t view them. Okay, I make sure that the sound is working, that you know the winds not blowing in the microphone, and I publish it. I don’t look back. And if people watch it great – if people don’t that’s fine too. And I move on.

I don’t think about, you know, oh no, you know what if I said that wrong, because really, people love your vulnerability, they love your honesty, they can relate to you when you’re vulnerable and being honest and being real.

People tell me all the time that they love my videos because I’m just being real, and that’s very rare in network marketing these days because people think they have to be this loud salesman to get people into their business but the true entrepreneur these days is the person who is vulnerable and ties in everything – spirituality, mental health, financial, all of those things.

They’re all wrapped up in one thing now that’s the new entrepreneur these days, it’s not the pushy salesman. That worked in the 80s in the 90s – and that’s what gave network marketing a bad name, these loud extroverts promising that you’re going to get rich if you join them.

Okay, and I want to be honest, I want to be completely transparent because transparency is key with business these days, and I want to say that I do make a full time income with network marketing, and I do it my way, but it took five years to get there with a lot of headaches.

You know, even though I don’t work hands on with a lot of people all day long, I literally work one or two hours a day. But for me it’s creating content, because I’m all about the attraction marketing business model. I love attracting people to me through my content. I do not like pushing my opportunity on to people.

So that’s why I’m not on the phone all day going, you gotta get in, you got to get in, you know, the cut offs next Thursday, you gotta get in! That’s not my style. My style is to attract someone to my blog or to my videos, they click the link and it generates me a lead and I get an email that says great job you got a new lead.

Then I let the company email my lead. And the autoresponder alone has helped me recruit probably 95% – over 1000 recruits in the last five years that I’ve recruited. So, you can do it your way. And if you’re an introvert or you don’t want to do it a certain way and you feel like you got to do three ways and you got to do webinars and you got to do home parties and all that stuff. I am living proof that you don’t have to do it that way. You can do it your way.

It just might take longer, but I am so happy that I worked from home, you know, I mean I was slaving away in the restaurant industry, working, you know, two jobs back to back from 6am until 11pm at night, making like $11 an hour. I mean, I couldn’t do anything with that money. It was just for rent and some bills and that was it. That was all the money. And I had to wait again for two more weeks to get paid again. It was literally like $600 every two weeks.

When I got around 40 years old I was like this is ridiculous. I’m not going to be like my coworker who is this Spanish woman who’s like 72, and she’s a prep cook, making about the same as me. She has no retirement, and she’s like yeah, I’m gonna work until the day I die. And that’s great, you know if that makes you happy that’s great but I did not want to be flipping burgers when I’m 70, you know, and put on a cute little restaurant shirt, and a little cap so I don’t get hair in the french fries, that’s not who I want to become.

So, for me, four years to go full time in network marketing is nothing. Okay, and now I’m setting money aside for retirement. I am paying off my debt. I’m going to be debt free this year. It’s all worked out for me, I couldn’t have even invested in stocks if I was working in the restaurant business. You know I didn’t make enough. I could barely pay my bills and that was it – so network marketing has completely changed my life.

You know my wife and I can go out to dinner, we don’t have to worry about going to work the next day, that was the worst thing ever was getting nervous that you had to work the next day, or you can’t relax, all day long because you have to go into work at 5pm. There’s plenty of restaurant jobs where I just sat around all day until I had to go in at 3pm or 5pm, and that’s no life just waiting to go to work.

Then when you have two days off you’re just, you know, for me, I got drunk, and then I had to go back to work and I was shaking from alcohol withdrawals and I was more nervous than ever. And I was like oh no I can’t go back. They’re gonna know I got like two hours of sleep last night, they’re gonna know I’m still drunk. You know that was horrible, horrible. So I haven’t had any of those days for 10 years. But anyways, you can do it your way. And if you’re not in a home business yet click the link below and let’s rock.
