So I want to talk about how to get network marketing reps started. These are brand new distributors that join your team. I keep it very simple. And the reason why I keep it very simple is because you want people to do what you’re doing to generate leads and grow their own businesses, which allows duplication to happen.
So network marketing is all about implementing systems and getting duplication. So you want your team to copy what you do, ideally, and of course, people are going to do whatever they want, and a lot of them are going to not get it or they’re going to quit – and that’s just normal.
So you have to keep recruiting until you get people in your business that get it. Okay. And they’re open minded, and they’re willing to implement what you give them. I’m basically an internet marketer doing network marketing. And what I mean by that is, I did affiliate marketing before I started network marketing.
I learned that all it takes to grow a business is generating lots of traffic to your offer, and I started to do that with my network marketing business. We had wonderful landing pages in our company. These are signup forms where a prospect can just fill out the form and they go into the free tour of the business. And they can see the videos by the CEO and they get a free spot in the company to look around and then the company starts emailing the leads.
This part is very powerful. Okay, this means that you do not have to call your leads. You do not have to email your leads if you’re in our company. I’ve been in three companies like this over the last six years. I won’t touch an MLM company that doesn’t have an automated email system with a fear of loss type of email sequence.
What that means is that every week, once a week, there’s a cut off. And all the paid members leapfrog over the free tour takers. And if you want to capitalize on potential commissions, you want to lock in your spot meaning buy products and become a paid member. So people don’t leapfrog you every Thursday night at midnight. So the fear of loss is very powerful, because it takes seven to 15 times for someone, emails or exposures for someone to typically sign up.
If you don’t have an email system that emails your leads every day, every other day, then you’re gonna lose a lot of people. So I’ve only been in companies that have this type of email system. And all I do is generate leads. That’s all I’ve done. The last six years, I’ve generated over probably 70,000 leads in the last six years. We’ll get into how to do that in a little bit.
But the bottom line is massive numbers. So when I get a new paid affiliate in my company, on my team, I get an email that says congratulations, you have a new paid affiliate, and I get their information.
So back to the leads, I want my new person to know how to generate leads right away. In fact, most people when they join my team, they can start generating leads within an hour and it’s very exciting. They’re very excited. There’s no beating around the bush.
However, this is what I don’t tell my new reps to do. I don’t tell them to go on to Facebook. I don’t tell them to attend company webinars. I don’t tell them to make a list of friends and family that they can talk to about their business. I don’t talk to them about anything except how to generate leads. I do this in the cold market. These are people that they don’t know.
I don’t want you bugging your friends and family, friends and family are not going to build you a million dollar business. Friends and family usually will join you. They’re easy to get in your business because they love and support you. And they’re like, sure, honey, I’ll sign up with you.
You know, but they don’t last because they don’t understand network marketing. So you keep recruiting until you find people that get it and that means that they’re fine with generating 20 to 50 leads a day and they’re fine spending money on their business because they understand it’s a real business. And real businesses take money to grow. All businesses need money to grow.
Most people that join network marketing, they’re like, Oh, I can’t afford anything more than my product. Okay, that’s great. You can then bug your friends and family and try to get them in okay. But for internet marketing, and for unlimited leads, you have to go into the cold market, which is generating leads every single day.
And in the beginning, that is paid advertising, and then after that, you can create content which will start generating leads in the long term, we’re talking a year or two down the road, your videos can start taking off, your blog articles can start generating leads, but content takes a while to grow. So the fastest way to generate leads is paid advertising.
Back to the welcome letter. When I get a new paid affiliate on my team, I email them a welcome letter. I don’t call them. I don’t say hey, this is Erik, welcome to the team. Let’s get on Facebook and I’ll introduce you to 500 people that you won’t remember their names and make you nervous and stuff.
I don’t do that, I’m an introvert. I’m an internet marketer, and Facebook is really pointless. In fact, the first company I joined in 2014, the CEO of the MLM company was like we need to get people off of Facebook because they’re getting sidetracked and other reps from other companies are making them join their companies. That was crazy.
Facebook does work if you’re an extrovert, great if you got thousands of friends on Facebook, you plaster an image on your Facebook that says, you know, make some extra income – comment below if you want more info. And then you give your landing page link to them in a private message. That’s easy. Okay, you can do that.
I’m talking to introverts or people that are internet marketers or affiliate marketers, and they just want to generate lots of leads. I get signups on autopilot. That’s how I work about one hour a day. I’m not on Facebook or any social media. I’m not going to hotel meetings and home parties and I haven’t talked to one friend or family really about my business in the last six years.
I’ve done cold market lead generation and that’s people that don’t know me. And there’s a lot of money that has to be had in the cold market because you don’t know what experience these strangers have, and a lot of them do have network marketing experience already.
When I get people that sign up on my team, they’re like, Wow, this is so refreshing. They’re like, you know, I tried MLM a decade ago, it didn’t work, I failed, miserable. And I was like, well, I’ll show you how to generate leads and they’re like, great.
All of my training takes under an hour to implement, and they can start generating leads in an hour or two hours. And that’s what you want. That’s what you got to do – and you have to stay consistent. You have to generate 20 to 50 leads a day, for the next year, until you start getting people on your team that start doing what you’re doing.
Right in the beginning, it’s just you, it can get expensive, you might get overwhelmed. You might be like, wow, you know, I’ve generated 500 leads, you know, when do I get signups? And here’s the thing is it takes momentum, you gotta get that snowball rolling. Okay?
So you’re gonna need 500 to 1000 leads just to start getting signups. It might take a couple weeks, but at least you can start generating leads in the first hour or two with my welcome letter that I send to my paid affiliates.
I keep it very simple because you want that duplication, you want people to just start generating leads right away. I keep it very simple. I say thank you for signing up. You’re going to love the products. Then I say this is how you log back into your dashboard. Because you want people to know how to log into their dashboard. That’s common sense. It’s your business hub.
That’s where you can find your website links and look at the other training and everything. Okay, so I say here’s how you log back in. And then I gave them the presentation to the company. Our presentation is on a PDF for our company and talks about the sales, the growth of the company, the products that we have, the Commission’s etc.
So they can share that presentation if they want or just read it and get acquainted with the company. Okay. The second thing is a link to the comp plan, because everyone’s like, give me the comp plan. I want to see how they pay. And I’m like, All right. So it’s the presentation link, then it’s the compensation plan link.
Then at the bottom of the welcome letter, I give them two YouTube videos, and one is how to generate leads using classified ads. And the other one is how to generate leads with pay per click, primarily bing advertising. And that’s it, because those are the best leads right now.
I give them my number one lead generation techniques, because why give them something that might not work? Or might work? Or are you just trying to make money off of your new team by giving them bogus solo ads that don’t work?
I want to give my team what actually works okay, which is pay per click and classified ads that they can start doing right away. They can watch the videos and start generating leads in an hour to two hours. There’s no old school MLM about this. There is no like, you know, attend this rah rah event and let’s get you on a three way and tag team against some innocent prospects. You know let’s two to one somebody on the phone. I don’t want to do that.
I can’t stand three way calls. It’s intimidating. A lot of people don’t want to do it. It’s not duplicatable. You want something that’s duplicatable and yeah, there’s people that are like, Oh, I can’t, I can’t spend $20 on an ad. It’s like, well, then you get your Facebook and start a YouTube channel. All right, that’s the bottom line is you need massive traffic to your landing pages to start generating 20 to 50 leads a day.
And if you work from home part time, I think it’s a tax write off. So you’re actually saving on your taxes by running ads. That’s how I look at it. You know, I cut 50% off of my taxes last year, because I ran a lot of ads. I did pay per click, and I did classified ads, and I reduced my taxes greatly. I rather build a business than pay the man, basically.
A lot of people that join my business, they understand that – they’re professionals. They have money. They know it’s a real business and real businesses take money. It takes money to make money. Okay? You only have so much of a warm market before you have to go into the cold market anyways.
Most people, when they join MLM, they talk to all their friends and family and they don’t know how to talk about their business for one, they ruin a lot of friendships by not talking the right way about their business, and like I said, friends and family are not going to build you a million dollar business. Strangers in the cold market will – there’s millions of people on the internet right now looking for your business opportunity – that’s all I do is cold market lead generation.
I have the best sources for you to start implementing the first hour you sign up in my business and that’s the way it should be. That’s the way network marketing should be. That’s how easy it can be. Instead of like hey, you know let’s get all buddy buddy on Facebook and attend this motivational, you know, webinars where they don’t really teach you how to generate leads, and get all inspired. But then you’re just sitting there.
Then you try talking to a couple friends. And they’re like, no, what is this MLM. And then you go, Oh, I’m sorry. And then you feel gross and spammy, because you tried talking to your friends and family about MLM, when all you really need to do is just generate leads, running ads, and then let the email system do its thing.
You don’t have to call your leads or email your leads, just let the automated email system do its thing. And eventually you will get signups. When you get a new signup, you send them the same welcome letter that I gave you. You can change the name at the bottom, from my name to your name, just copy my welcome letter.
Because you want people to start generating their own leads, and then that grows a big organization, then you don’t have to spend all of your hard earned money on ads because you got a team growing under you and you get commissions from everything they do.
Then network marketing will start to pay you then you don’t have to spend all of your money from other sources. You can spend the profit from your network marketing business and reinvest in your business. Treat it like a million dollar business, treat it like a real business and it will pay like a real business. So that is it guys. I hope this helps.
